Robert Wyndham Clampett (AM) has been appointed a Member of the Order of Australia - in 1977 for for "services to local government".

One of the most famous members of the family is Robert (Bob) Clampett, the cartoonist.
We also have a famous golfer in the family in the person of Bobby Clampett, now with CBS.
There are several places, roads, buildings etc named after family members and details of these can be found in the Places with the name section
The Clampett family of the Hillbillies series is of course no relation, but as the Clampett family is so small, it seems obvious that inspiration (for the name at least) came from our American cousins
