• He travelled to England to find a wife in 1888. WPE went to England in 1888 for nine (9) months to find a wfie and found a good one staying with his sister Mrs Sam Anglin.

• He worked as a rickshaw operator in Pietermaritzburg, Natal, South Africa. He had a Rickshaw business. This is a small two-wheeled "cart" which was usually pulled by a person and took two passengers.

William married Rachel Sharpe. (Rachel Sharpe was born on 7 Jun 1859 in Wigtoft Marsh, Boston, Lincolnshire, England, UK and died on 28 Feb 1932.)
