Joseph William Clampet

  General Notes:

On 1 November 1967 Joseph W Clampet was inducted into the United States Army. He was trained at Ft. Dix Nw Jersey in Admin and at Ft. Hamilton, NY as Chaplain Assistant, both in 1968. Then he was sent over to Vietnam to serve with the 25th Infantry in Cu-Chi Vietnam. While there he became an X-ray technician and served at the 12th Evacuation Hospital. In 1969 Joseph's Wife Michaila gave birth to a baby boy Sean Patrick Clampet who died after one hour. Joseph was called home from Vietnam to console with his wife. He completed the remainder of his tour at Med Co DeWitt Army Hospital in Ft. Belvoir, Virginia. He received an honorable discharge on 31 October 1969.
Awards received: Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal w/ device.

Joseph married Michaila Serrene Petersen, daughter of Beger Petersen and Randi Tandberg, in 1968. (Michaila Serrene Petersen was born on 23 Dec 1944 in Brooklyn, New York City.)
