Following information is from "Moore - Millican Memoirs" by Elma Lou Maxwell:

George Tom Millican was eventually comissioned a first lietenant in the Confederate Army. He was severely wounded at Petersburg, Virginia and spent three years recovering, during most of which time his family did not know where he was or if he was alive. He lost a leg from wounds received in battle. He was released from a hospital in Richmond, Virginia to return home in the Fall of 1865.

Following is from "Moore - Millican Memoirs" by Elma Lou Maxwell:

They were Baptists (Free Will, Primitive, & foot washing) in belief, but they were not members. They lived and practiced the doctrines of that church to the last letter. the reason they never joined the church was that they never lived near enough to one to attend regularly.

The guiding principle of their lives can be found in Matthew 7:12: " Whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them....."
