Paul L. Huffman, Retired Painter, Dies At Age Of 87
A former resident of 311 East Wiley Ave., Paul l. Huffman, 87, died at 1:45 a.m. Monday at Swiss Village in Berne of congestive heart failure. He had been ill the past five months.
Mr. Huffman, a member of the First Baptist Church, had retired in 1970 after 40 years as a commercial and residential painter.
Born Oct. 30, 1898, in Wells County, he was a son of Isaac and Effie E. Bevington Huffman. His marriage to Mildred McGinness, who survives and resides at Meadowvale Care Center, took place May 21, 1943 at Bluffton.
Surviving, in addition to the wife, are a daughter, Mrs. Paul (Joan) Baumgartner of Saginaw, Mich; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Gilbert (Jeannie) Bynum of rural Craigville; a stepson, Richard J. McElderry of Eau Clair, Wis; a brother, Wayne Huffman of rural Bluffton, six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Thoma-Rich Funeral Home, where services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday. Rev. Donald Crellin will officiate and burial will be in the Elm Grove Cemetery.
Preferred are memorials to the First Baptist Church or Swiss Village.
