David P. Huffman, Aged 73, Is Dead
Funeral Friday Afternoon At Mt. Zion U.B.
David Palmer Huffman, 73, Salamonie township farmer, died at 11:55 p.m. Tuesday at his home after an illness since last February of heart trouble.
Mr. Huffman was born in Salamonie township, December 17, 1868, to Lewis and Amy Mounsey Huffman and was married March 19, 1893, to Della V. Bevington. He was a member of the Mt. Zion United Brethren church and retired from farm work some time ago.
Surviving are the widow, a son, Edward E. Huffman, Charlotte, N.C., two daughters, Mrs. Everett Beaty, Huntington and Mrs. Helen Jones, Huntington, and two brothers, Scott Huffman, Warren and Frank Huffman, Bluffton, Wells county assessor.
The family has announced no floral offerings are desired.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Mt. Zion United Brethren church with the Rev. A. M. Johnson, Huntington, officiating, assisted by the Rev. W. A. Strickler, pastor of the church.
Interment will be in the Woodlawn cemetery at Warren.

D. P. Huffman Died Wednesday
Long Illness Fatal To Well-Known Township Resident
David Palmer Huffman, ill since last February from a heart ailment, died at his home in the southeast part of Salamonie township shortly before midnight on Tuesday night.
His age was 73 years, 8 monts and 21 days. He was a son of Lewis and Amy Mounsey Huffman and was born within a few miles of the home where he died, his birth occurring on December 17, 1868. On March 19, 1893 he was married to Miss Della Bevington. There are three children living, being Edward E. Huffman of Charlotte, North Caroline, Mrs. Everett Beaty of Huntington and Mrs. Helen Jones of Indianapolis. One daughter, Grace is dead. The children named, the widow, and two brothers, Scott Huffman who lives near Warren, and Frank C. Huffman, of Bluffton, are living.
Mr. Huffman's entire life was spent in the neighborhood where he was born. In early life he was a teacher and during the greater part of his life he was active in church work. He was one of the successful farmers of the township and in every respect a most excellent citizen. Although he had quit teaching many years ago he continued to maintain an interest in all educational matters and kept himself well informed about matters of public concern.
Funeral services will be held at the United Brethren Church at Mt. Zion on Friday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock and will be in charge of Rev. A. M. Johnson of Huntington, assisted by Rev. W. A. Strickler, pastor of the Mt. Zion church. Burial will be in the Woodlawn cemetery.
