Rev. Lewis Huffman Claimed By Death
Passed Away Sunday And The Funeral Held This Afternoon.
Rev. Lewis Huffman, 81, a reverend citizen of Jackson township, passed away Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at his home near Mt. Zion. He had been sick for a long time and death was caused by cancer of the stomach.
The deceased was a native of Huntington County, a son of John and Suzanna Huffman, and his entire life had been spent in Huntington and Wells Counties. He was a minister of the Brethren denomination and had preached the gospel to congregations of that faith for many years. He was held in high esteem in the communtiy.
Surviving are the widow and three sons, Frank, of Bluffton; D. C. Huffman, near Salem; and Scott Huffman, living three miles north of Warren; also by a number of grand children.
There also survive two brothers, George W. Huffman, an ex-sheriff, and Jacob Huffman, and a sister Mrs. Robert Campbell.
Funeral services were held at 2:30 o'clock this afternoon, at Sugar Grove church and burial was in the Jones cemetery.
