bullet  General Notes:

Was 5'11" tall, black hair, dark eyes, and was a farmer and a blacksmith. On military papers he gave his birthplace as Lexington, even though his parents had lived in Henry County, KY since 1929. No tombstone but believed to be buried in Drakes Cemetery at Lewis, Henry County, MO.

He married Nancy M. Davis, daughter of Jeremiah & Rhoda Auamas Davis 25 May in Mt Sterling. In the 1860 federal census they were in Concord Township, Adams county, IL with a son Jeremiah, 2 years, and mother, Judith age 65 years, all listed under the surname Kindrage.

There may have been other children. J. B. Moore was appointed guardian of Hezekiah in Mt. Sterling IL when his father died. He was left 130 acres of land jointly with his brother Walter in Brown Co. which he and mother Judith disposed of in 1859.

In 1870 census he was in Ball TWP. of Sangamon County, IL with his family and Mother Judith still living with him. In 1880 page 365A same county but in Laomi TWP. neither daughter Narcissa nor mother Judith were there. Applied for a pension from Cotton Hill Sangamon Co in 1872 which was denied.

Nancy's father died about 1880 and left land in Linn County, MO to them. They sold this to brother her brother George in August 1882. It must have been about this time that they moved to Henry county, MO. From Davis family records, Nancy died there in Oct 1889.
