Polysena was given $ 15.00 in her father's will. Leonard Rigor was appointed executor of James' estate and Joshua along with Judith was security for his bond. Hezekiah, who was only 15 years old when his father James died, chose Joshua M . Jarrard (spelling in document), who had married his sister Polysena Kindred, a as his guardian. Joshua along with William New and James Bell agreed to the penal sum of $ 1800.00 in U. S. money if he Joshua Jarrard did not faithfully discharge the office of his guardianship according to the law. On March 25,1853 James Bell and William New filed a complaint against Joshua M . Jarrard who seems to have left the area. The sheriff, William Taylor submitted a bill for $ 103.00 for sending a summons to Jarrard. Apparently he was not contacted for on February. 6, 1854 and Hezekiah chose George Hersman to be his guardian . George and his brother Abraham J. put up security. On August 28, 1855 George Hersman turned over 295.20 to Hezekiah after his mother signed a statement that he was born 07-29-1834 and signed her name Judiah Kindred. ( This may have been her correct name instead of Judith.) They were not found in the 1850 census of Brown Co. IL. and have not been found since.
Polysena married Joshua Garrard on 30 Aug 1845 in Indiana, Decatur County. (Joshua Garrard was born about 1820 in Kentucky, Clark County.)
