NOTE : It is not clear if this was one person who had two marriages or two people, both named Joseph Henry Clampett.

The evidence currently indicates that this was one person who left most of an existing family behind to emigrate to Australia. If this is the case, then most of the dates for his first family are suspect.

Two children died at birth (in Australia)

Apparently he destroyed all his personal papers before his death.

There are a lot of newspaper articles on Joseph's life in Burrowa covering advertisements for his store, his input as church warden, a letter to the editor, information about his children,and other bits and pieces - eg he was the hero in raising the alarm re a serious fire.

• Fact 2: Warden of Catholic Church, Burrowa, New South Wales, Australia. Burrowa was a predominantly Irish catholic settlement, it was called the 'Tipperary of Australia", so the Church played a very important social role in the community and town life.
