Hardy Sanders was part Indian. His descendant, Annie Boone Call, "was the only 'throw back' and [her] Indian appearance was always blamed on [her] Boone side of the family. There was not one single other person on [her] Sanders side that had olive skin or brown eyes. [Her] very fair complexioned brother did have one blue eye and one brown eye; this from Indian heritage. But ... [she was] having difficulty finding any Indians on [her] dad's side.... Hardy married Catherine Anne Clampet, daughter of Mathias Masten Clampett and Rebecca Nicholson, on 28 Sep 1835 in Madison County, Alabama.197 (Catherine Anne Clampet was born on 22 Aug 1819 in North Carolina.)
