Irish Roots of the Australian Clampett Family
Introduction

There are several possibilities regarding Joseph Henry's family in Ireland, but at this stage it is impossible to determine with certainty which one is correct.

The Limerick Regional Archives has provided the following information on Joseph Clampett.  There were two recorded baptisms of a Joseph Clampett in the 1820s;

The first was Joseph son of James Clampett and Honora Ryan who was baptised in St John’s Cathedral, Limerick on 27 September 1826.  This is not the Joseph Clampett of this story but he also came to Australia, more of him later.

The only other Joseph Clampett on record in the baptismal records of the 1820s is Joseph son of Henry and Mary Duggan.  These, I believe, are the parents of the Joseph Henry Clampett who married Ellen Nowlan.
