It is thought she either died in IN in childbirth or on the wagon trip which started to Oregon in 1845. When James Kindred made his will in February. 1847 he said James Hamilton Jr. was to have bed and bedding. It was thought this was Artemesa' husband until we found that J. B. Moore was appointed guardian of James Hamilton Jr. after James Kindred died in 1849.
Now it is believed that James and Judith were in the process of raising this child which they had brought with them to IL. It was not listed in Judith's household in the 1850 census, but in the same township was a James Hamilton 22 years born in PA with a wife Elizabeth 23 years born in Indiana, a son 6 years, daughters Columbia C. 4 years and Francis Ann 2 years. More research needs to be done.
