How to contribute to the

Any contributions to support the costs of maintaining the web site would be most appreciated.
It would also be a great help if as many family members took advantage of the services now offered on the the - go here for more details

Contributions to the information on the web site, including any research to the family name or early locations, are welcomed and are best sent in by email to the webmaster. The contributions of family members to the content on the site have been very important in achieving the numerous awards won by this site and your efforts are acknowledged with thanks. Click here for details of the awards won so far and click here for some comments from visitors.

I am also happy to be advised/guided/cajoled/bullied or whatever in terms of what the site offers or publishes.

Although the actual family tree is very important and I am regularly working on the data, I feel that the family story is perhaps even more important. I am keen to not only get this right, but also to find a way to present it (publish it) in a way that is easy and enjoyable to read - and navigate through.

So, apart from any actual content which may may wish to contribute, do please feel free to comment on the above as well.

As to the format of what you have anything will do, either electronic (word processor) documents or even typed or clearly hand-written documents. I have a scanner and OCR software that can translate the documents into a word processor for cleaning up and reformatting.

Please note that the main interest is for the Clampett family and spelling variations. We are not conducting research into other names except where they are close relations or where such research could lead to information about the Clampett family.

It would be most helpful if you could use the following checklist before sending in information. This mainly refers to submissions of GEDCOM files.

Most genealogical programs have a problem reports and a check/repair utility and it would also be useful if you could run these as well.

Any form of information on the family tree is acceptable although the most convenient is a "Legacy" file. A free version of "Legacy" is available from the Utilities/Software page - this is the genealogical software program I am currently using. This will enable you to include time-line events, photographs etc.

You may wish to compress your file using a program such as WinZip. It is very easy to use and and there is a free evaluation version - see Utilities/Software for details. If you decide to use Legacy, it has a built in function to create a ZIp file using the backup option.

Alternately send a GED file which can be produced from most genealogical programs.

If you prefer, you can print out this questionnaire and return the details. QUESTIONNAIREAdobe Acrobat pdf file(If you need the Adobe Acrobat reader you can download it hereOpens in a new window)

Where available, please send in copies of certificates and other supporting documentation, including photographs or video or voice clips. These really add to the family tree.

If any photographs or valuable documents such as certificates are submitted please let me know if you wish them returned and I will do so using registered mail.
