Loyd Huffman Dead At 67
Loyd Huffman, 67, died at 7 a.m. Saturday at his home one mile east of Warren. He had been in failing health for the last six months.
He was born near Boehmer Church in Salamonie Township November 26, 1891 to Martin and Belle McElhaney Huffman. He married Ellen Thompson September 8, 1914, in the house in which they spent their married life.
Mr. Huffman was a lifetime resident of Salamonie Township. He taught Irick and Salem Schools six years before he started farming and farmed the rest of his life.
Surviving are two sons, George K. and Richard K. of rural Warren; eight grandchildren, Christene, James, Philip, Barbara, Ann, William, Carol and Katheryn, and a sister, Mrs. Mark (Gertrude) Thompson of rural Warren.
A brother, Harry, preceded him in death.
Mr. Huffman was a member of First Methodist Church in Warren, King Lodge 246 FM and AM, Kiwanis Club, Phi Delta Kappa and Scottish Rite Body of Fort Wayne. He was a long time member of the Warren Library Board.
Friends may call at the Grogg Funeral Home in Warren after 1 p.m. Sunday until noon Tuesday and at the First Methodist Church from 1 -2 p.m. Tuesday.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the church with the Rev. H. H. Patterson, pastor, officiating. Burial will be at Thompson Cemetery near Warren.

Services Conducted For Loyd Huffman
Funeral services for Loyd Huffman were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the First Methodist Church in Warren with the Rev. H. H. Patterson, pastor, officiating.
Organist was Mary Wilhelm. Pallbearers were John Thompson, Wayne Thompson, Ward Irick, Herbert Bolinger, Howard Minnich, Bernard Gephart, Wendell Thompson and Russel Dalrymple.
Burial was at Thompson Cemetery. The Grogg Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
