Huffman, Martin
Warren, Oct. 29-Martin Huffman, 79, life-time county resident died at 11:50 p.m. Thursday at his home here. Death was believed hastened by shock suffered in an automobile accident recently.
Mr. Huffman and Andrew Gephart were enroute to Bluffton during the city's annual street fair the last of September to hear Governor M. Clifford Townsend speak when their automobile was involved in a collision north of Warren. Injuries were not severe but he is believed to have been weakened by the shock due to his age.
He was born in Salamonie township on June 19, 1858 to Jacob and Sarah Baker Huffman. On February 13, 1886, he was married in Huntington to Belle McElhaney, who survives.
Also living are a son, Loyd Huffman; a daughter, Mrs. Mark Thompson and a brother, Frank Huffman, all of this community.
Mr. Huffman retired as a farmer some time ago and established residence here.
He was a member of the Warren Methodist Episcopal church where funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Sunday with the Rev. E. E. Kaufman officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn cemetery.
